i got an e-mail from an admissions rep at one of the colleges i've applied to telling me that he tried to call my mom's house and her husband told him that i no longer lived there and was very rude to him about locating me.
my mom knows that i don't have a phone number so she usually takes messages for me regarding jobs and schools. that was so fucking uncalled for.
i'm really pissed off and it just feels to me that he's trying to make me a failure so that his daughter can be the only one that succeeds in life because she's so perfect and smart and i'm a big fat fucking loser.
i don't think my family realizes that i'm never ever going to do what the fuck they tell me because they don't give me advice- they try to tell me how i should be living my life and i'm so not down for it. they can't handle the fact that i will never be some corporate susie doll wearing beige and navy blue.
i am a fucking individual. i don't care if i ever have a high paying 9-5 career. success to me is either becoming a singer like i want to, or finding a job that will allow me to be myself and makes me happy...like cosmetology or something. i'm not ever going to work at unum...i worked at drms for 4 months and had panic attacks on a weekly basis because of it. i was made to feel incompetent even though i knew i wasn't. i cannot live that kind of life. i will not die in a fucking cubicle. i am just not that girl.
it's been 23 years and they still haven't realized that i'm never going to listen to a word they say...

I realized that when I posted this I forgot to italicize my RESPONSES to the racist things that were said in the bulletin. I AM NOT THE RACIST HERE. I'm merely sticking up for the minorities because this bulletin was ENTIRELY ignorant AND racist. So maybe now for those of you who weren't smart enough to figure it out the first time, you'll realize what's going on here. And if you REALLY thought that I was the one saying "white power" and such, take another look at my icon picture. Whoa! No Shit! I'm black. Duh. THE TEXT IN ITALICS ARE MY RESPONSES.
This was a chain letter. Everyone who posted this in a bulletin will be deleted from my page. This is ignorant, and it shouldn't even be an issue. If I speak out about relationships and other trivial matters, you know I'm gonna speak out about shit like this.

You call me "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey" and even "The Man" and you think it's OK.
But when I call you, "Nigger", "Kike", "Towelhead", "Sand-Nigger", "Camel Jockey", "Beaner" or "Chink" you call me a racist.
Words are just letters and syllables compiled together. It's HOW you say these things that gives them their meaning. I use all of the previously stated terms quite frequently in a comical sense. If you are calling someone one of these names in a derogatory manner, it takes on a whole different meaning. It's not something anyone should be complaining about "well they say this so we should be able to say this..." No one should be calling anyone anything negative with the intention of hurting that person's feelings. This goes beyond racial slurs, too.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live
I'm not going to get into my government/ghetto conspiracy theories because I'm sure that I've got some pretty closed-minded and/or ignorant people on my list and I really don't want to get into arguments, but I will say that violence in the ghetto and racial violence are two very different things, and violence can happen anywhere, not just in low income areas. Maybe you should say that poor people are more violent, because there are white people that live in ghettos too.
You say you want to make changes in this country.
How? By protesting everything that we believe in? By trying to change everything that has made this country run fine for centuries?
The only changes that minorities are trying to make in this country at this point in time are changes involving equal rights. The Constitution does NOT say "All heterosexual white men are created equal." And what things are you referring to that made this country run fine for centuries. Was segregation fine? Was slavery fine? Was oppression fine? Maybe for those of you who believe you're "racially PURE", but how many of you can actually say that. Remember that oppression has not only affected those of us that have different coloured skin in the past, but even some primarily white countries, such as Ireland. Think about that the next time you imply such things.

You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah
You have Cinco de Mayo

kendra and i stayed up all night looking at the profiles of gross manchvegas girls on myspace- determining which ones were dan's type and which were joel's. good times. i had much more fun making fun of skanks online than i have ever had out in the old port. looks like we found ourselves a new hobby.
answer me this one question: if i was up until 6:30, why am i awake now?
because subconsciously i was hoping that he was online and that i'd get a chance to talk to him, to make sure that i was making a big deal out of nothing again. he was online. i did get a chance to talk to him. and i was making a big deal out of nothing, because he didn't ignore me. and he said he had a "good but weird time at that kid's house."
so...
i don't know what i'm doing to myself or where i'm going with all of this. i don't want him to be a part of my life the way that he has been all of these years. i want to know that i can be okay with always being just friends with him. but it doesn't seem like that's something i can do- so where does that leave me? unless i can get over this 100% i'm stuck at a crossroads. "leave tonight or live and die this way."
i can cut him out of my life for good, or i can go on living with the "what ifs." i don't want it to come to that. so i've got to figure out a way to be completely over it without making myself hate him.
and i really need to break out of this funk, because depression is something i wear too well...and that's not healthy- not for me, not for anyone. when you start feeling that your misery is just another accessory...like your earrings or your belt... you've got to do something about it.
that's all for now. i should try to get back to bed. hope everyone is doing all right.

realizations:
i don't really have feelings for nick anymore
and i don't have feelings for joel anymore
i'm not as surprised about joel...but the nick thing is a little weird for me.
i thought i'd never get over it. i mean, i guess i shouldn't say i don't have any feelings for him anymore because i guess he'll always be a part of my life, as will joel...but it's just not the same anymore. it's kinda sad. i'd had those feeling for so long that i guess i'm kinda feeling a little empty. i'm glad i got to spend time with him last weekend because it cleared up a lot of things for me.

when myspace won't let me get into my e-mail i get pissed off.
and my plans fell through yet again.
joel is a fucking idiot, and he will not be getting an apartment with us. i will not ever be able to fucking live with him. i figured since it's been two years he may have grown up a little bit. having a job and being over 18 does not make you "grown up." he's still fucking highly immature, and i won't stand for it.
joel has a tarantula. he lets it crawl freely about his room. i won't have that. i'm sorry. everyone in the situation would have to make some sort of sacrifice to make it work...and he would have to get a cage or whatever for his tarantula. i'm not going to live in a house where a large spider is crawling around freely. i just won't. i like to look at spiders. i DO NOT like spiders crawling on me.
he insulted my intelligence.

i called back. i told him i was never going to talk to him again. i hung up.
i thought about it. i called back. i told him that i was testing him to see if i could ever be with him again and i couldn't. i then told him that i was getting married in three months.
and i remembered why we broke up. we CANNOT get along. because i'm smart but he thinks he's smarter. because he's immature, and i don't put up with bullshit. because he's fucking WEIRD, and next to him even I look "normal."
and i can't live with him. because even the sound of his voice makes me want to yell at him.
BUT
calvin said he'd like to get an apartment with JUST joel. that would be lovely, because it would make it a hell of a lot easier for me and kendra to move- because we can just find a room available. we can share a room because we have shared a room MANY MANY times (hulloh- i'm living in her room right now!)
i don't know. i've got two weeks to figure it all out. and if i don't, i'm taking off anyway- even if i have to live in a cardboard box and beg for change on the side of the road...or resort to a life of prostitution. I DONT CARE ANYMORE.
